Little Steps

Little steps, that what Syaa took. She trotted along the rugged path in the forest with a look of nervousness on her face. She had no idea where she was, or where she was going. All she hoped was that at the end of the day, she would be able to find her way home. It wasn't like Syaa to get lost, but in this forest, the idea was too far-fetched. With little to hold her mind on ground, it began to wonder.

It didn't wonder about much, Syaa's mind, but it still wondered. Nothing interesting or relevant, but more of observations about the color of the trees or the shadows that the sun was casting down on the forest. She would hear noises of creatures along the skyline or in the bushes that she walked by. Her pace quickened when she heard these sounds, and then slowed when they were gone. Such things gave this place a certain feeling...and Syaa did not like that feeling.

As Syaa walked on the path, she kicked around a small stone to try to calm herself. This feeling of nervousness was ridicolus. There was no need for her to feel this way. All she had to go she calm down and enjoy the peacefull walk she was taking and not think about how she was lost...and alone...and completely jumpy. "No, stop that," she mumbled to herself. Such thoughts were not welcomed at the time. The sun was bright, and the clouds were puffy. The only thing giving her anticipation was the forest itself and the shadows it casted.

Her ears were on high alert now, batting at every single noise that they could catch. She motioned her tail from left to right at a faster pace that normal, but then again, she wasn't feeling too normal, only trying to act like it.

She missed the stone, kicking it into the bushes by accident. Syaa paused in fear, thinking that a monster would come out to get her, but after a few seconds, and when nothing came out, she relaxed a little and continued on her walk.
